This is a magnificent circuit on one of Kerry's most accessible mountains. Mangerton occupies the land southeast of the Lakes of Killarney and provides excellent views over the lakes and the MacGillycuddy's Reeks. An extensive plateau, its most dramatic feature being several spectacular corries which bite deeply into its flank. -- Irish Peaks A Celebration of Ireland's Highest Mountains, Mountaineering Ireland, 2020
